China has become a key market for companies based in the US and other foreign countries. This week on "Thoughtful China," policy expert Frank Lavin identifies successful tips for operating in China. Mr. Lavin founded Export Today in December 2010 to help U.S. companies export goods into China through TMall, China's top B2C e-commerce platform. He is also chairman of Edelman's public affairs practice in Asia-Pacific, helping companies deal with regulatory and other government-related issues. Before that, he was Undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce for two years, serving as America's chief trade negotiator in President George Bush's administration. He was also the U.S. Ambassador to Singapore from 1999 to 2000.
