Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, has authorized Da Nang City to develop a plan that would see the central coast city develop into a regional financial center.

The plan to develop Da Nang into a regional financial center is in line with a resolution of the Vietnamese Politburo, on the construction and development of Da Nang until 2030.

On March 15, the government approved a master plan for Da Nang until 2030, with a vision to 2045 that classifies the city as a "class-1" urban region under the government management and a major economic center of the country with a focus on the banking, technology, tourism and trade sectors.

In order to support the vision to develop Da Nang into one of the major social and economic centers of the country, the national and city government’s will support the development of commercial and financial services, will build and promote international and national-level trade centers, develop a non-tariff trade zone located in an urban complex, and will plan for continual upgrades to the city’s technology infrastructure.
