Becamex IDC and the Binh Duong People’s Committee held the official launch ceremony for “The World Trade Centre Binh Duong New City” (WTC BDNC), a complex of facilities that is designed to promote international trade.
The WTC BDNC will be a key project in developing Binh Duong as a smart city.
Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province said at the launch ceremony that “the World Trade Centre Binh Duong New City is more than just a building; it is a service complex that will attract international commercial activities to the south-eastern region.”
According to a project model and outline presented by Becamex IDV, the new WTC will be a multi-purpose complex of 70,000 sq.m that will provide a wide range of facilities and services that can facilitate commercial, cultural, and community activities.

The design includes a central square, which includes lawns, parks, and water-covered areas that are accessible through covered pathways, surrounded by functional facilities.
The central commercial area will be a four-story building with a floor area of 45,000sq.m. This area will have a concert hall, convention center, movie theatre, a food court, and other facilities that will be available to all residents.
There will also be a multi-use sports center built within the WTC that can accommodate 4,000 spectators, and this facility will be used for sports events as well as entertainment, concerts and cultural events.
Next to the central park and adjacent to the central administration building and central roundabout will be office a convention center, indoor and outdoor exhibition centers and office buildings.
Becamex IDC announced at the launch that it had studied and proposed the project to the People’s Committee with the objective of increasing the ratio of service businesses in the province’s economy, which is in line with the governments plan for 2016-20.
This plan highlights five goals: improving the quality of human resources, modern urban planning, developing professional services, mobilizing internal and external resources, and developing the Binh Duong brand internationally.
Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Becamex IDC said at the project launch that, “WTC BDNC and the Becamex IDC Science and Technology Park are set to become two of the main pillars for the development of an innovative and creative eco-system, making Binh Duong a creative and innovative smart city that can attract investors, scientists and business experts to build a diverse sustainable, knowledge-led economy. Driven by innovation and creativity, Binh Duong can attract high-value industries and move up the regional value chain.”

At the project launch ceremony, it was also announced that Becamex IDC had became a member of the World Trade Centres Association. Becamex IDC stated that it had signed strategic partnership agreements with partners, a significant milestone in preparing the WTC BDNC action plan for 2020, including trade services development from early 2020.
