Four new Greg Norman golf courses coming to Vietnam

 

Property developer Novaland has hired Greg Norman Golf Course Design to build four new golf courses in Vietnam at a cost of $100 million USD. The new courses will be built in across southern Vietnam in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Thuan province and Can Tho City.

Australian golf champion Greg Norman is one of them most popular golfers in the world and is chairman of the Great White Shark Enterprises (his nickname on during his playing days). One of the Great White Shark subsidiaries is the Greg Norman Golf Course Design, which has designed100+ courses in 34 countries.

Novaland said at the signing ceremony that: "The first course designed by golf legend Greg Norman will be built in Phan Thiet, the capital of Binh Thuan province in the first quarter of 2019."


Novaland is one of Vietnam's biggest real estate developers with chartered capital of $393 million USD. Over the last 26 years, Novaland has developed more than 40 property projects in a range of segments.

Novaland is one of Vietnam's biggest real estate developers with chartered capital of $393 million USD. Over the last 26 years, Novaland has developed more than 40 property projects in a range of segments.

According to a representative of Novaland Group, the development of the new golf courses is a new step to help the different localities to develop their image as destinations associated with the high-end golfers from around the world.

Norman and his company Greg Norman Golf Course Design have worked in Vietnam for 12 years and have opened a number of golf courses, most notably The Bluff Ho Tram Strip in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and the Dunes course at the Danang Golf Club. His latest course, KN Golf Links opened for play in early December.

Daniel Grassi, a representative of Greg Norman Golf Course Design said that Norman chose to cooperate with Novaland Group since its one the largest real estate corporations in Vietnam. Grassi said that Novaland, through its development and partnerships has proven its motivation and passion for tourism development in the country and in the Southeast Asia region.

Grassi also said that Norman is looking forward to helping promote Vietnam as a golf and tourism destination. He said that golf has the ability to increase high-end tourism in the country and noted that the golf tourism is less than 1% of Vietnam’s tourism so the ability to expand shouldn't be difficult and that with cooperation of the government and private-sector partners, golf tourism can easily double within 1 or 2 years.
