NBA Launches Asia-Pacific Online Stores

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Fanatics, the NBA’s sports merchandise licensing partner, have announced a partnership to launch official online NBA stores across Asia-Pacific. This partnership expands on the NBA’s existing relationship with Fanatics, which currently operates the NBA Store in New York City, as well as its and official websites.

With this partnership, official online NBA stores will be available in 10 countries in Asia-Pacific: Australia, Cambodia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. With the launch of the new stores, the NBA will have 20 international e-commerce sites.

The collection of online NBA stores will offer a wide assortment of men’s, women’s and youth products from all 30 NBA teams. Products will include on-court apparel from official NBA outfitter Nike and products from a range of NBA merchandise partners, including New Era and Mitchell & Ness. The online stores will also provide fans with exclusive products, including personalized team jerseys.

Visitors to the NBA online stores will be able to browse merchandize in the stores and see prices in their local currencies and will benefit from shortened delivery times and reduced shipping costs as a result of Fanatics’ centralized distribution point in Asia.

“The NBA is becoming an increasingly global league, and we’ve seen a significant uptick in fandom across several regions throughout Asia,” said Steve Davis, President of Fanatics International. “This level of growth is very exciting, and Fanatics is committed to providing a best-in-class online shopping experience to provide these passionate fans with easy access to the largest assortment of officially licensed NBA merchandise available for all 30 teams.”

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Fanatics to provide NBA fans across Asia-Pacific with greater access to authentic NBA merchandise,” said NBA Asia Associate Vice President, Global Merchandising Lesley Rulloda. “Basketball’s popularity in Asia-Pacific continues to grow, and our new online NBA Stores will allow us to reach and engage with our expanding fanbase throughout the region.”
