"Finding Your Dream Job in China" Panel Afterthoughts

My career services industry colleague in the US, Diane Hudson Burns of Career Marketing Techniques, recently attended the ONREC Global Recruiting Conference. Onrec.com is the world’s leading information resource for HR and Recruiting professionals, and is the accompanying website to Online Recruitment Magazine

Diane, a career coach and professional resume writer, rubbed elbows with several hundred recruiters (corporate/internal, third-party/contingency, retained, and executive), job board operators, and other industry experts. She attended 10 sessions and heard from more than 16 speakers.

We agreed that having a LinkedIn profile is mandatory these days, regardless of whether or not you are in an active job search.

We also wondered, is the traditional paper resume (or pdf or Word) going to continue to be relevant?
