
Mr. Nakajima founded Crimson Phoenix in 2003 to provide mergers and acquisitions advisory services and private equity investment related services mainly on cross-border transactions involving Japanese companies. During his career spanning 28 years, most of them focused on M&A work, he has held senior positions at leading firms in Japan and the UK, including: Country Head for Japan at Business Development Asia (Tokyo), Managing Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Advisory Services (Tokyo and London), Head of Execution at Crosby Corporate Advisory (London) and Director at S.G.Warburg (London). He has also been involved in providing Japanese official development assistance to developing countries.
In addition to running Crimson Phoenix, Mr. Nakajima has been actively engaged in addressing cross-cultural business issues in Japan, as well as in the U.K., where he has spent a total of 18 years. In today’s Managing Japan program, Mr. Nakajima shares with us the differences between experiences in large organization and his own corporation, and what lessons or best practise he has seen in terms of management particularly with the view to the cross boarder nature. He believes what Japanese companies should improve is to capturing people’s skill and utilize their aspirations in a better way, furthermore, to promote and encourage the female workforce.
