Our panel of digital experts joined us to share their hands-on experiences. They discussed the current evaluations of Chinese companies going public, predicted the future of SINA’s Weibo microblogging platform and analyzed reasons for Kaixin’s downward trend and Renren’s failures. Alvin Wang Graylin received his MBA and MS EE/CS from MIT, and BS from the University of Washington. He is a seasoned technology entrepreneur having more than 18 years of management experience with 11 years managing business in Greater China. Mr. Graylin co-founded mInfo in early 2005 and has lead mInfo to its market leader in Mobile search and mobile advertising in China. Prior to mInfo, Alvin held P&L positions at Intel, Trendmicro, and WatchGuard Technologies, as well as founded two startups in the US.

Strategic Planning & Mobile Practice Lead Joyce Ling overseas Strategic Planning and Mobile Practice at Razorfish and Digitas China, both under Vivaki of Publicis Groupe. She is an experienced marketing and branding professional and brings over 12 years of marketing and branding experiences from the luxury and lifestyle industries of both the US and China markets. Joyce was with LVMH for ten years and graduated with honors from UC Santa Barbara. Being an expert in Mobile marketing, she designs mobile strategies for clients to closely engage with online audiences on multiple touch points.

Lawrence Wan was appointed as Managing Director, E-Business Solutions, GroupM China in August 2010. He is responsible for the incubation of new digital systems, tools, technologies, platforms and services for GroupM and its media agencies. He graduated from the Simon Fraser University with a BBA (Hons.) degree. He has twelve years in the media and advertising industry in Canada, China and Hong Kong.

John Zhongwei Wu is the Head of Alternative Capital Markets for China International Capital Corp (China’s Sovereign Investment fund). He has been working in the in the investment arena for over 14 years for prestigious firms such as Goldman Sachs and Deustche Bank prior to CICC. His area of interest including mobile computing, consumer sectors, financial services and health care. John received his BS in EE/CS from Yale College and MBA from MIT Sloan.
