Melissa Wong is the Head of Remote Banking for Standard Chartered Bank (China). She joined the bank in 2008 as Strategy and Planning Manager for the China CIO. During her tenure, she has led the emergence of Standard Chartered Bank China’s competitive mobile and online banking offering which is earning an outstanding reputation for customer focus, relevance and innovation. Before joining Standard Chartered Bank, Melissa worked in the Corporate Finance division of KPMG Australia and is member of the Australian Chartered Accounting Association.
Melissa’s introduction to China started with a year-long stint in Nanjing University in 2000. Her involvement with China continued with participation in KPMG Australia-China Desk where she focused on Corporate Finance deals in the energy industry. Melissa has been at the forefront of the Bank’s mobile, internet, digital marketing and new media strategy, with the aim to establishing Standard Chartered Bank China as the leading foreign bank in mobile banking capabilities and customer experience.
