
James K. Yuann co-authored the book Supertrends of Future China in 2008, an analysis of China’s top business trends for the next ten years, and he also spoke at Spark 09 in Shanghai based on his book. In today’s interview with Morry Morgan, James reveals his thought on a number of drivers that driving China to success. He speaks about China’s changes and progress over the years in terms of globalization, government policy and people’s determination. James believes the perception of the world to China’s success is very important for both business and political stand point, and China is moving forward towards being an innovative country. James has been working in China for nearly 30 years. Seeing its potential in the early 80s, he established multiple petrochemical manufacturing operations for Fortune 100 companies. In the 90s, he foresaw the telecommunications revolution in China and built several high-tech ventures before joining Honeywell Specialty Materials as President, Asia. Now, envisioning China’s next wave of human capital, he is a Managing Director for the China office of international human resources firm Boyden, and an adjunct professor with the Fudan University – MIT IMBA program. In 2001 James received the Magnolia Award from the Mayor of Shanghai for his business contribution to the city.
