As a producer and director, Hisako Matsui joins us today to talk about her movie Leonie which will commence screening in Japan on November 20th. From initial concept to sourcing finance for the film, recruiting actors, to then undertaking the actual filming, which required working across multiple countries and even languages for the shoot, the film involved and challenged many deep-set diversity & inclusion issues. Tune in to find out more.
Born in Tokyo in 1946, Hisako Matsui graduated in drama from Waseda University and began her career as a writer and editor at several popular magazines. In 1979 she established an actors' agency, and a decade later she founded her own production company, Essen Communications, for which she produced numerous TV dramas and documentaries. She made her directorial debut in 1998 with YUKIE, which earned several prizes at festivals in Japan.

PROGRAM INTRODUCTION AND HOST
Diversity and Inclusion
D&I looks at the advantages, challenges, and rewards of adopting an approach that transcends the still very much ingrained, yet artificially placed barriers of age, gender, disability, cultural differences, and other prohibitive and potentially limiting ways and values from the past that are often prevalent in our work environment and personal lives among the family members.
Breaking down such irrelevant values in the mindsets of the people for this day and age, we speak with leaders & innovators in this D&I field, sharing their insights, wisdom, and stories of success as the results of embracing the more open, empowering, and inclusive approach/values which D&I make us aware of.
Join us to learn how your business can benefit from incorporating such empowering, inclusive approach and values that are promoted in Diversity and Inclusion. We welcome all of you to take action!
