Sam Flemming and Eugene Chew bring on the table an interesting discussion about digital and social media scene in China. Eugene sees China as an exciting place to develop digital industry. As the general manager of TBWA, he shares with us his career path in digital media, how did he grow with TBWA and what makes TBWA different. Sam and Eugene look at the "Jian Mian Ba" Campaigns TBWA made for McDonald, which turns out to be one of the most effective digital campaigns in China. Eugene's love affair with the internet started in 1996 when he built HTML webpages in notepad as a programmer for the Australian Stock Exchange. He went on to become a web producer for RealNetworks, responsible for editorial & ad sales on their Australian and New Zealand online properties, before several years at the media agency Carat, as an online planner & buyer servicing EMI, Toshiba and St.George bank.

Eugene's love for adventure brought him to Shanghai in 2004, where he learnt mandarin and travelled around China for a year. He joined TBWA\ China when they gave him the amazing opportunity to build a digital team from scratch. They did some great digital work for Adidas, Nissan Infiniti and Chivas Regal before we split off as an independent digital agency under the AGENCY.COM brand in January 2007.
