From devices that performed in extremely slow fashion, they have evolved into multi-core high performance machines capable of many multimedia applications. While much of this evolution is a result of the rapid deployment of extremely fast mobile internet, the hardware and software of such devices had to evolve rapidly as well in order to maximize the potential of such fast connections.     New Regulations on Representative Offices and the Impact on Your Business in China

    On November 19th, 2010, the Administrative Regulations on the Registration of Foreign Representative Offices of Foreign Enterprises (the "Representative Office Regulations") was promulgated by the State Council of People’s Republic of China on the registration administration of resident representative offices (“ROs”) for foreign companies, effective as of March 1st, 2011. This new legislation will have significant impact on ROs already in existence and those foreign companies who are considering the right investment structure to enter the Chinese market.

    Xi Jinping’s US Visit Helps Ease Trade Tensions

    Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, the presumptive next head of state of the People’s Republic, recently wrapped up a state visit to the US amid growing trade conflicts and a tense political climate for both sides, with an election year underway in the US and an upcoming generational shift expected in China’s leadership when President Hu Jintao steps down next year. While there were no major breakthroughs or unexpected twists in Xi’s trip, which included visits to Washington, D.C., Iowa and California to discuss agricultural and trade issues, the trip did indicate that both countries wish to find a way to resolve their differences.
