"Why would an individual do an MBA program now, especially in the current economic environment?"
About Us
For almost 200 years, McGill University has distinguished itself as one of the world's great public universities, renowned for outstanding students, professors and alumni, for achievement in teaching and research, and for its distinctive international character and reach.
The McGill MBA Japan program brings those rich traditions of excellence, in addition to the over 100 years of business education and management expertise, to Tokyo in a unique format that meets the needs of today’s working business professional. The McGill MBA Japan program is a 51-credit program delivered on weekends in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo. Delivered to the same standards, and by the same outstanding professors, as the MBA program offered on the home campus in Montreal, Canada by the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University.
The MBA Japan Program’s weekend commitment lets you continue to work full-time so that you can convert new knowledge directly into creative solutions to help you reinvent your work, your ideas, and your future, right from the very first class.

McGill looks for students who have a sense of curiosity, who hope to work with others, we also look for academic strength, and leadership as seen through work or other experience.
Most of our students already of considerable career experience, with an average age of 34. So we are really looking for people who can contribute to the classroom discuss and to the learning of their colleagues.
As they say, crisis brings opportunity. And the opportunity is best taken by those who are well-prepared. A candidate in an MBA program would be focusing on the drastically changing demands of individuals and organizations, and whole countries. The financial system that grew over the past 10 years or so is gone, the manufacturing organizations and value chains that developed over the past 25 years are under extreme stress, and non-governmental and development organizations have a whole new set of expectations being placed on them.
A person doing an MBA now indicates that they are ready for the changes coming up, and ready to take part in the wave of entrepreneurial activity that I am sure is coming.
