Ronald Wright Raffensperger
Director of Core Network Marketing, Huawei

Mr. Ronald Raffensperger is Director of Core Network Marketing for Huawei and is based in the company’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, China. He is responsible for the overall branding and communications strategies for the Core Network product line, including analyst relations and public relations activities.

Mr. Raffensperger has over 30 years of experience in product management and marketing in the telecommunications industry. Prior to his current role with Huawei, Mr. Raffensperger was Senior Vice President of Marketing for Sylantro Systems, a U.S.-based provider of advanced voice applications.

Mr. Raffensperger has held senior positions at Network Focus, Siemens, ROLM/IBM, Telebit Corporation and General Telephone. He was also Vice President of Marketing at Objectivity, a leading provider of object-oriented databases, and Vice President of Sales and Services at Upshot, the first web-based CRM application provider which was later acquired by Siebel.

Mr. Raffensperger holds a BSEE from Iowa State University and attended the MBA program at Santa Clara University.

Patrick Donegan
Patrick has more than 15 years' experience as a telecom market journalist, analyst, and strategist. His in-depth knowledge of wireless technology issues is critical to Heavy Reading's expanding coverage in this area. Patrick joined Heavy Reading after five years at Nortel Networks, where he was a senior manager of strategic planning for the company's wireless business – spanning GSM, CDMA, UMTS, WiMax, and other wireless technologies. Prior to Nortel, Patrick spent two years in business research for Motorola's Corporate Strategy Office in EMEA and two years as a wireless analyst for the Yankee Group. As a journalist, Patrick was deputy editor of Public Network Europe from 1990-1995 and editor of Mobile Communications International from 1995-1997.s.
