FEATURE INTERVIEW
Finding Your Dream Job

Here the panel takes questions from the audience, and gets into issues of education and social media. First, is an MBA worthwhile? For many management functions it’s a minimum entry requirement, but our panel isn’t sure it’s always worth the opportunity cost. While many Chinese job seekers have excellent credentials, they often lack the experience to go with it. Larry points out that MBAs are seldom a make or break matter- MBAs may be helpful, but they’re usually not a determining factor in getting a job in China. Second, is LinkedIn the new resume? It’s an open platform that’s great for job seekers and employers alike. While other social media platforms can offer ways to network with potential employers, none are as effectively career-focused as LinkedIn, and Frank recommends it to all his clients.
